HISTORY

Family-owned since 1776

Michael Plattner "guardian of the lake" purchased Seehüter's in 1776 - the property was owned by the Stams Monastery. Therefore he had a certain responsibility towards this unique nature paradise.

1924 – 1951

Known as "Seehüter", the farmhouse was rebuilt in 1924 and became an inn with guest beds. Great-grandmother Johanna and her 9 children led it until the year 1951.

1951 – 1984

In 1951, the guesthouse was modernized with much passion and commitment of Hilda and Thomas Plattner. Afterwards it gained fame as a top modern hotel in Oetz, Ötztal valley.

1984 – 2012

In 1984, Siegfried and Monika Plattner continued the family business by creating a small but fine wellness oasis at the entrance to the Ötztal. Much love to the detail, made to measure services for all guests and their individual needs as well as a certain responsibility towards this traditional place have remained over the last generations. Therefore the old name of the house - "Seehüter" - was adapted again.

Since 2013 ...

Since 2013, Clemens and Mirjam Plattner have been running the traditional and family-like Seehüter's Hotel Seerose on lake Piburger See in Ötztal. It is already the 4th generation that works in this typical Tirolean family business.

A place steeped in history

Our hotel – known as "Seehüter" – has been a family-run business since 1776. Only in 1924 the rustic farmhouse was rebuilt and became a typical Tirolean inn with guest beds run by great-grandmother Johanna and her nine children with much passion and love until 1951. Later the house was modernized by Hilda and Thomas Plattner with great efforts and a high level of commitment before Siegfried und Monika became the new hotel owners in 1984. A story of success! Today, Hotel Seerose in Oetz - Ötztal Valley makes a wonderful holiday destination and a superb base for memorable skiing adventures, peak conquests and all kinds of sporty activities. The hotel also features a homey terrace for jovial hours among friends – overlooking the natural jewel of lake Piburger See amidst Tirol's awe-inspiring mountain scenery.
